Blank Screen

Staring at the blank screen,
Trying to find whats behind it.
You search in your memories,
To find me in it.
But I'm not there,
You've erased me out of your mind,
Made it a blank screen,
Walked away, leaving me behind.

Hide yourself inside me,
Look out through the pitch-black darkness,
To find nothing but blankness.
Dead memories erased
from what you found in me:
Your sanity.

Stare at the blank screen
To find yourself in it.
And if your eyes can see through it,
Find me standing behind,
Still seated in your memories,
Still somewhere at the back of your mind.

Have you seen Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind? :P
Cos I wouldnt wonder if you said you drew inspiration from it... The poem sounds just like what the film tries to say.
Anyway, good poem. I preferred dm, tho, but I can see your legendary describing techniques in this one, too :P
"Dead memories erased
from what you found in me:
Your sanity." simply brilliant!
And the ending's great as well :D

It's difficult not to quote the entire piece but here is my attempt to pick my most beloved lines. It made me think of something I wondered long ago, when I talked a lot to far away friends - "Am I all you know from this screen?" Also I agree with FR in that quote she pulled. Just gorgeous words. You make me live through it all!
