Somewhere Else

So we find ourselves giving in
To another stone we turn into a belief.
In search of that truth we want to hear
Relying on things more than we need.

If walls had ears, would you speak to them?
Let go of your angst and your soul
In search of a voice so long been unknown?

It's time you took a stand
And directed your faith somewhere else
That''ll bring you closer to yourself.

I'll need a hand to help me through
To save me from my fall.
A hand on my shoulder to pat on my back
Not the one to push me through the wall.

It's time I took a stand
And directed my faith somewhere else
For our prayers to be heard and wishes fulfilled
We need to face ourselves.

House of Cards

I'm building myself a house of cards
A Palace, if you please.

I keep building fearfully
As I ascend each level
Afraid it might fall down
And destroy my haven.

Why then do you want to blow it away,
Shatter the walls of my safe place?

Hearts and Diamonds
Clubs and Spades,
Bricks and walls
That I have laid.

Till you open the window panes
And blow it all away.

I'm building myself a house of cards
A Palace, if you please.

Until you let it be...

Showtime

There's no point in fearing the curtain call
Your magic will steal the show,
Shine through the faces that gaze at you
At the height of your majestic glow.

And yet you peer through the blinds
Overwhelmed by the thousand faces you see
With my face among all the smiles,
Enjoying my anonymity.

But once the spotlight hits your face
It'll be over before you even know.
All eyes will disappear behind the lights
And you'll be dancing all alone.

Play tricks with your sorcerer's charm,
Dance your way with your ballerina's grace.
With your eyes closed, dance away
Till you waltz to another time and place.

And if you happen to decide on walking away
Let me know when you're about to leave.
For the show must still go on
But I can still save you a seat.

Etymology

And I stood there beneath the red sky
Held by the laws that define our lives
A lullaby for the eyes
With the stars and the sun
Re-aligned.

The mental pictures have been gathering dust since
Untitled, waiting to be forgotten.

And the clouds floating above gave a bit of comfort
Hiding the thunders that waited to crack the grounds
Shaped like pieces of a puzzle still unsolved,
Craving for something new to be found.

They'll soon be all forgotten
Like all things without a name.

And I stood there, speechless
Trying to register the visions
Overjoyed all that I had seen
If only I could find the right word
To describe the way I could feel.

What you see is what you feel
The only difference is the irony.
Eyes can name what the mind fails to read
And you run out of words when you're most in need.

Inertia

If I keep moving like this
Who knows if I ever reach somewhere new?
If I keep wandering aimlessly
Who knows if I come right back to you?

Tilted and twisted
Run down, then lifted
It won't ever be the same.

Tired and exhausted
What we had, we lost it
And we cannot build it again.

I'll still keep moving
Only because I'm afraid.

If I stop right here,
Who knows if I can start again?

Comeback Season

It aches to lock your treasures in a seed
And watch them suffocate, die and bleed
When you know
Its more than just a few.

It pains to be called a "washed up star"
No more than a "has-been"
When you know
It can come back any time to you.

But you don't know when...

When the yesterdays outshine tomorrows
Who can not point the irony?
When your actions alone can bring you joy
How can you count on destiny?

There's meaning behind everything
But it takes more than eyes to see.

There'll be a time for me to breathe
Don't know when.
There'll be a Comeback Season for me
I'll wait till then...

Being Human

They searched for me everywhere
Breaking all the signs and seals

Till I was read out
Written and quoted,
Demystified
and Decoded.

And as I felt them breaking in
I could feel my Humanity
Dying within.

They followed me everywhere
Chasing me behind my heels

Till I was cornered
All surrounded,
Silenced and robbed
and dumbfounded.

And as I saw them closing in
I could see my Humanity
Dying within.

They'll hunt you too
If you're not alert and known.
And when you're alone,
They'll push you off your comfort-zone.

They'll chase you, take you
Break your run
If ever you fall down to
Being Human

And I'll be there to join the fun...
